Publish pages and connect a custom domain
Put a page on its public address, roll back to an earlier version when needed, then connect your own domain with a CNAME or TXT record so the page runs over https on your domain.
What are publishing and custom domains for?#
A page in the editor is only a draft until you click Publish (Xuất bản). Each publish stores a fixed snapshot of the page and puts it on a public address. You can return to an older version at any time from the version history, or unpublish the page to take it offline.
Every published page always has a default path in the form <public site address>/p/<slug>, for example https://ldpage-site.ddev.site/p/tra-thao-moc-an-nhien-landing on the test environment. Depending on server configuration, the page may also open at the subdomain <slug>.<root domain>. To show visitors your own domain (e.g. khuyenmai.congty.vn), connect a custom domain using the steps below.
1. Publish a page from the editor#
- 1
Open the page in the editor, review the content, then click Publish (Xuất bản) at the top right of the toolbar.
- 2
The Publish page dialog (Xuất bản trang) opens. The Page addresses block (Địa chỉ của trang) shows where the page will go live: the row labelled Default (Mặc định) is the default path; rows below it (if any) are custom domains pointing to the page, with their status.
- 3
Click Publish now (Xuất bản ngay). LDPage saves the draft first, then shows “Rendering and uploading the page…” while it builds the page.
- 1
When it finishes, a green box “Published successfully!” (Đã xuất bản thành công!) shows a link to the page. Open it in a new tab and also check it on a phone.
- 2
The link in the green box is the primary address: a verified custom domain if the page has one, otherwise the default path.
- 3
Editing after publishing does not change the public page immediately. Click Publish → Publish now again to push the new version.
2. Restore an older version and unpublish#
- 1
In the Publish page dialog, expand Version history (the number in brackets is how many versions are stored). Each row shows when it was created; versions created by publishing are labelled Published version (Bản xuất bản).
- 2
Click Restore (Khôi phục) on the row you want, read the “Restore this version?” prompt (this version becomes the one live on the website), then confirm Restore.
- 3
The public page switches to the chosen version immediately without rebuilding. The editor draft is also replaced with that version's content and the editor reloads.
- 4
To take a page offline: go to Landing Pages › Pages (Trang), click the … button on the published page's row and choose Unpublish (Ngừng xuất bản). This item only appears for pages that are currently published.
- 5
An unpublished page stays in the list with its version history; open the editor and publish again whenever you need.
3. Connect a domain from Page settings#
- 1
In the Publish page dialog, click Connect a custom domain (or Manage custom domains if the page already has one). You can also open Page settings (Cài đặt trang) in the editor and pick Domain (Tên miền) in the left column.
- 2
The Page addresses block shows the Default path (Đường dẫn mặc định) with a copy button and the custom domains pointing to this page. If the page is not published yet, a hint says the addresses only work after you click Publish.
- 3
In Connect a custom domain, enter a domain such as khuyenmai.congty.vn (no http:// and no path) and click Connect (Kết nối). A confirmation reminds you to set up DNS and then click Verify (Xác minh).
- 4
Other domains in workspace (Tên miền khác trong workspace) lists domains pointing to other pages. Click Move to this page (Chuyển về trang này) and confirm so visitors of that domain see the page you are editing; this does not create a new domain, so it does not use quota.
- 5
The Manage all domains link at the bottom opens the Domains page in a new tab.
4. Add a domain on the Domains page#
- 1
Go to Landing Pages › Domains (Tên miền) in the Assets (Tài sản) group of the second menu column. The header shows the total number of domains, how many are active and how many still need DNS.
- 2
Click Add domain (Thêm tên miền) at the top right. When the workspace has no domains yet, the form is already open.
- 3
Domain field: paste the domain; LDPage strips http://, paths and capitals, then shows “Will add: <domain>” for you to check. A wrong format shows “Invalid domain — correct example: shop.congty.vn”.
- 4
Target page (Trang đích): choose the page shown when visitors open the domain (defaults to the first page in the list).
- 5
Click Add domain (Thêm domain). The new domain card appears and opens the DNS instructions automatically.
5. Point DNS, verify and get SSL#
- 1
On the domain card, click DNS records (Bản ghi DNS) if the instructions are collapsed. The progress bar has 3 steps: Add domain → Point DNS → Verify & SSL.
- 2
Sign in to the DNS manager where you bought the domain and create ONE of the two records. CNAME: Name (Host) is your domain, Value is the public site server address (ldpage-site.ddev.site on the test environment). TXT: Name (Host) is _ldpage.<domain>, Value is the domain's own verification code.
- 3
Click the Name or Value box to copy it exactly; the box shows a tick once copied.
- 4
Wait for DNS to update, then click Verify (Xác minh). On success you see “Verified! The domain is ready to receive traffic.” and the status changes to Active (Hoạt động); otherwise the reason is shown right under the card.
- 5
After verification, the SSL (https) certificate is issued automatically the first time the domain is visited. The card label changes from No SSL (Chưa có SSL) to SSL issuing (SSL đang cấp) and then SSL issued (SSL đã cấp).
Statuses: Waiting for DNS (Chờ trỏ DNS) means the domain was just added and never verified; Verifying (Đang xác minh) means the system is checking; Active (Hoạt động) means verified and the page opens on the domain; Not pointed correctly (Chưa trỏ đúng) means the last check found no valid record; Suspended (Tạm ngưng) means the plan no longer has enough custom-domain quota. Each record also shows Pointed (Đã trỏ) or Not found yet (Chưa thấy) so you know which record DNS already returns.
6. Change the target page, delete a domain and plan limits#
- 1
Change target page: pick another page in the Target page selector on the domain card. Verification and SSL status are kept; no DNS changes needed.
- 2
Open page: once the domain is Active, use the Open page (Mở trang) button on the card to check it directly.
- 3
Delete: click the trash icon, read the “Delete this domain?” prompt (the page will no longer be reachable through this domain) and confirm Delete domain (Xóa domain). The page remains on its default path; also remove the unused DNS record.
- 4
Limits: custom domains are counted across all workspaces you own. A plan without custom domains says it does not support custom domains yet; when the quota is full it says only N domains are allowed — upgrade the plan or delete unused domains.
Troubleshooting#
- 1
No valid CNAME or TXT record found: check the exact Name (Host) and Value, remove any trailing dot, and wait longer — DNS can take several minutes (sometimes more, depending on the provider and TTL) to update.
- 2
Some DNS providers automatically append the root domain to the Host field. In that case enter only the first part (e.g. khuyenmai or _ldpage.khuyenmai) instead of the full domain.
- 3
The Publish page dialog says unverified domains cannot open the page yet: a page is served on a domain only when its status is Active.
- 4
A Suspended domain cannot be re-verified. Renew or upgrade the plan; the system automatically reopens domains within the new quota a few minutes later.
- 5
Publishing says only N pages may be published: unpublish other pages or upgrade the plan. Republishing a page that is already published is always allowed.
- 6
Publishing says it is taking too long and to check the worker: the server-side build process is slow or stopped; try again in a few minutes or contact the system administrator.
